Bio


Strongly grounded in the traditional art fundamentals, Kian‘s passion for concept art and animation brought him across the globe from Malaysia to USA. Since 1997, his diverse professional background span many different creative industries, from publishing, video production, animation, collectible games to video games.


Kian has a unique benefit and challenge as an artist, because of his passion and skills in both drawing and animating. This is a good  especially for video game development. He will work as a concept artist in the beginning stage and then put on the animation hat during production. Sometimes his graphic design background even served on additional marketing art required during production.


Currently, he is the Lead Concept Artist for 2 AAA MMO projects for Petroglyph Games. First one is Mytheon which is coming in 2010. The other is also a high profile MMORTS that hasn’t been announced.


Before that, he just finished working on a RTS game, Universe at War for PC and XBOX 360. This game is developed by Petroglyph Games and published by SEGA USA.


Previously Kian has worked on Plucker video game prototype for the Nintendo DS. It is based on a book by world renowned fantasy artist Brom. Another game in Kian’s credit but currently still in production is NASA’s Hurricane Hunter for the PC.


Among his other previously published game are Greg Hasting's Paintball for Nintendo DS, Rocketmen CSG game and animated series, Pirates of the Spanish Main, MechWarrior, Mage Knight and DragonMech.


Kian’s goal is to continue pursuing the artistic field as a Concept Artist and  also as a Character Animator.
